The Methodology
Most consultants solve symptoms. We find the pattern causing the symptoms.
The Pattern Intelligence Method is an 8-step investigative process — whether organizational, professional, or personal. Every diagnostic engagement moves through this exact sequence:
1. SCOPE — Define the investigation boundary. What exactly are we investigating? Stop solving the wrong problem.
2. SURFACE — Gather evidence. Separate facts from interpretations. What is actually happening vs. what we assume is happening?
3. MAP — Chart the pattern. Where does the loop start, repeat, and end? Visual mapping of the recurring cycle.
4. CATEGORIZE — Identify the dominant loop type and assign it to one of the 5 Root Cause Categories: Inherited Logic, System Design, Behavioral Pattern, Cultural Blindspot, or Information Gap. Name the pattern.
5. INVESTIGATE — Go deeper. Where did this rule originate? Is it inherited? Is it structural? Who installed the rule?
6. RECOMMEND — Deliver ONE high-impact action. Not a 50-point checklist. The single structural change required to break the loop.
7. IMPLEMENT — Execute with Poka-Yoke safeguards. Mistake-proofing against pattern relapse. Build floor-level ownership without micromanagement.
8. CAPSTONE — Measure the result. Document the before/after. Close the investigation. Did the pattern shift? What is the evidence?
